I love grocery stores... a lot. Any time I find myself in a new city, my favorite thing to do is head to the nearest Whole Foods or local specialty grocer and browse the aisles. Finding a new health-focused brand is like hitting the jackpot and makes me totally giddy. Check out the five pantry items (Nola not included, although it's a given!) I'm currently stocking to keep me on track and feeling healthy and happy, inside and out.
In my world, there isn't a day that goes by without at least a scoop of collagen peptides. My favorite brand is Vital Proteins as they use pasture-raised collagen. I've been using collagen powder for almost two years and I've noticed a big difference in my skin–wrinkles, wrinkles stay away—hair and joints. I used to suffer from pre-arthritic aches in my hands and feet that are all but gone. I also use it as a replacement for protein powder in smoothies and my dairy-free bulletproof coffee in the morning with 17g of protein (and no carbs) for every 2 scoops. It's super easily digestible, helps regulate your metabolism and promotes a restful sleep if taken before bed, dissolved in water or herbal tea.

Gelatinized Maca Powder
Have you ever found yourself with a lack of energy? Foggy brain? Those stubborn last couple of pounds that have made themselves super comfy around your middle and have no plans of packing up and shipping the heck out? Your hormones could be out of whack. Gelatinized (this element is important for absorption) is an endocrine adaptogen, meaning that it does not contain any hormones, but contains the nutrients necessary to support normal hormone production. Maca is also high in minerals—calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc—essential fatty acids, fiber and amino acids.” I add a scoop of maca to my morning smoothies at least a couple times a week to keep my adrenals in check, energy up and hormones balanced. Soy-Free Coconut Aminos
This stuff is a freaking lifesaver. It's an amazing alternative to soy sauce that's gluten-free, dairy-free and non GMO. I use it for takeout sushi, as a base for meat and fish marinades and as flavoring for stirfrys and cauliflower rice bowls... try my favorite recipe here.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Aside from being delicious, unrefined coconut oil can help our bodies to resist bacteria and fungus, positively affect our hormones and blood-sugar control, improve insulin-use within the body, help to increase metabolism and help to absorb fat-soluble vitamins. It has a super high smoking temperature so you can cook with it without fear of oxidization and my absolute favorite part... it's made up of medium-chain triglycerides which do not get stored in the body as fat but instead get sent right to the liver to be used as energy.

Mina Moroccan Harissa
I love a good hot sauce but it's really tough to find one that doesn't have sugar. This harissa is incredible on eggs, chicken, veggies or as a dip... pretty much anything. Best part, it's made from 6 clean ingredients—no bad oils and no sweeteners.
